When he specifically was asked how many moves he could calculate, he said he could go on forever in a linear calculation path. It only gets tricky (limited by 20, 30, 40 moves) when there are many branches to go down along the way. Trust me. All GMs can calculate better than you could ever hope to. This is what happens when blitz players get cocky on a winstreak.

In 90% of the cases if you reallt see one move ahead you can never lose the draw!! He is a positional player and champ or a scholar and the meaning of that it is that he sees without making mistakes three positions ahead on the board. This was not 100% true!!

thinking farther ahead isnt much. If you have poor positional understanding then you could play a 10 move sequence to put yourself in a less optimal situations, over an entire game this will be fatal. Also only 10 moves? Anand can calculate as far as he wants, however there comes a point where its not practical to calculate so in depth.
