I don't think Magnus has ever played Spassky. Has he?

I was just thinking, for all Magnus has dominated the world of chess like no other, to the point where he decided being World Champion was old hat, has he ever played a game against Spassky? As the oldest living ex-World Champion, I figure Spassky has been retired for quite a while, but I think it would be almost tragic if Spassky and Carlsen didn't get to play at least one game against each other while Spassky is still alive. When was even Spassky's last game?

It's not even a matter of it being a great game, Magnus would crush him easily, it just seems weird to me if those two champions who could theoretically still play each other, never did, and would be a great meeting of the ages moment or whatever.

The chessgames.com database does not show any games between Spassky and Carlsen.

Spassky

Spassky was reigning chess world champion from 1969 to 1972, when he was defeated by Fischer

Carlsen as an adult and Kasparov never played each other even though Kasparov has repeatedly played Nakamura and other top players, neither has Karpov when Carlsen was an adult I think.

What's in it for these players to play the current world champion - to be reminded of how old and comparatively bad they are now? Spassky is now 86 so it's out of the question. I mean 86 is more than just old it's at death's door. It's a different phase of life for people, they take things slowly, at least some cognitive impairement has likely come up and probably a whole lot, energy greatly diminished - I would think the last thing he wants to do is go up against the world champion to get slaughtered. Kasparov might scrape a few draws, other than that they simply wouldn't be competitive matches.
