if you would let something as petty as this stop you becoming a member of the best chess site on the net, then maybe you dont love this game as much as i do! :-) really? does it matter?
You can contact Erik directly to ask if you can have a premium membership
without the star. What would you like instead, maybe an IZOD or the prancing
horse logo (Ferrari)?

If you don't like the idea of a star beside your name, buy a lifetime membership while it's still available and you'll have the pleasure of a diamond beside your name instead.
It's all in your head. That doesn't make it any less real, of course, just easier to deal with. It never occured to me that I was a snob, but I could get used to the idea.

I have a "stupid" star next to my name... hmmmm Who on earth thinks I am a snob??? As far as I know, only boglin! The thought never crossed my mind! besides, how does that affect your play??? or your image for that matter??? I reckon boglin just wants to create some discussion... -we've had a few of those nothing-better-to-do blokes in this forum lately!!!-

Are you seriously bothered by the star?... thats got to be one of the wierdest things i've heard. How would it make a differece at all? who is going to notice you have a star next to your name and say "wow this guy must be a real snob to have that!". seriously though, its not that big of a deal at all
I have a heart problem, arthritis, overweight, an ex-wife, a second wife and not enough money in the bank. A star is really not an issue. I would actually like 2 stars- if they would help my game, and cure my bad knee, did I mention the bad knee before?

I would go to hospital but I am busy playing chess and complaining about my health an stars- I could be a snob if I want to.........
Worry less about what others think of you. You would be amazed at how few people think about any of us. Take the star, be a snob...few will notice, fewer will care.

Hi all, i've been using chess.com for about a year now and i love it, i use it just about every day. I'd like to become a premium member to support the site and make use of the game explorer and chess mentor, but i don't want that stupid star next to my name, it reeks of snobbishness (for want of a better word). Do i have to have it?
