it is a shame
i feel bad for both UK and America chess

Uhh Chessmaster America had Bobby Fischer, and you can argue at the time the strongest player in the world Paul Morphy

both countries have never had a world champion in chess
How could any chess player not have heard of Bobby Fischer?
And although they are not world champions (yet), the U.S.A. has Nakamura, Caruana, Kamsky, and So.
Maybe save your pity for a country that needs it?

Yeah we even imported our only world champion from Israel.

Blasphemy!
Fischer'd turn over in his grave!

Everyone who lives outside of Africa is ether an immigrant, or is descended from an immigrant. And chess mastery is an achievement of the individual, not his/her nation. So nationalistic pride about chess champions does not make much sense anyway.
I feel good about American chess, especially now that we have the chess capital of the world -- now I can see the super-GMs in person!

Since Fischer was born in Chicago, that remarks seems to be an ugly combination of stupid and ignorant
Looks like I am the only real American here because Booby Fischer obviously immigrated from Israel.
Next thing you will tell me about is our "Great" soccer teams.
