Bullet chess should be called Spam Chess.
i hate bullet chess
Bullet chess should be called Spam Chess.
Lol I feel like if you think about it, bullet is actually a nice name. It gives a nice image that the moves are so fast they are like the speed of a bullet
If you think about it the names bullet and blitz should be swapped because lightning is faster than a bullet

Oh I forgot that blitz actually means lightning....in German I guess?
forget bullet, wait till you get to rapid, where dudes blast out engine lines in 2 seconds, this is like ridiculous, dudes are playing 80+ accuracy with no times spent, i dont understand how these dudes are like 1000 rated

maybe they know a little bit of theory but then blunder later on?
80+ isn't necessarily that high, i think.

the rapid is the scektcyest time control in my opinion, more than often it is just fishy in general, no matter the opening you throw in, it just very fastrepsonses which usually fall in the 3 best lines suggested by the engine, im not saying people are cheating, but it just the hardest time control to master for me, and majority of the opposition i've face in the 1000 range really feel like i'm playing dudes way over that rating the speed and accuracy is just mindblowing to me
its probably because they know some basic theory about their openings and proper responses to take against their opponents opening moves, not that difficult once you get to learn a few openings and really know your game plan
well....to all those who are saying that bullet is nonsense, here's a game i played on my alt where i swindled a draw by stalemate. we both had <1s on the clock at the end. that said, the game could have ended much earlier if i hadn't survived!
i think it also illustrates my point though; white was winning because of playing nontrivially good chess. if you can't keep up with it, you will just lose on the board.
Bullet chess isn't real chess, but it's definitely a fun format to play. at lower levels, most bullet players just randomly move pieces around without knowing what they're trying to do. Experienced bullet players always have some kind of plan even when they're required to move fast which comes with time and experience. However, I've seen even GM's and other titled players suck at bullet inspite of them having great ratings at slower time controls.
Yep, especially older titled players often struggle with bullet. I've seen people with like NM or CM title and a bullet rating of like, 1800, or even 1600 (1604 to be exact).
then the bullet players will accuse them of c word in the longer time controls lol
