I have a Queen?

I really don't know why, but I keep forgetting that in the opening my Queen is defending my d-pawn. I play so many inaccuracies based on the fact that I forget that my Queen is defending my d-pawn.

Needed to get this out there....thanks for reading....

Why do you keep forgetting that? Do you get your King and Queen mixed up by any chance?

I have no idea, but hopefully this thread will help... Laughing

I used to do that, really affected my play in the modern but I got used to it.

Hopefully it will. However, I somewhat know what you're talking about. I experience some weird things when I play with the black pieces. I always think that black's Monarch lie like their counterparts, thus getting me confused when I play with said black pieces.

do you have an example?

In which opening this happens to you?

Basically, I over protect my d pawn early on because I seem to forget the Queen is guarding it when its on d1...it doesn't happen every game but so many times when I analyse a game I realise I haven't taken the Queen guarding the d pawn. Well that's it really. Maybe now I can move on :-)
