I know basics, I can play. How can I improve

I've been playing chess for years! easy to learn and play, but honestly, I only know how to play. I 'm not great at it, how do i improve? Should I keep playing people online? What about studying openings and end games? Like I mentioned, I can only play the game, I wouldn't say i'm a professional player. 

Do you just keep learning with chess.com lessons even get a coach there is coaches on chess.com. I know you can be a good player soon I’m about 1300+ on chess.com and I know for a fact that anybody can get better.

And yes, play a few games every day and obviously analyze them to see what your mistakes are but you also have to learn chess not just playing chess games
