I'm not ok with the new allowed time for 30 min game disconnection.

Recently, I played a game with a player who was temporarily disconnected, and was very disappointed to see that now instead of the couple mins allowed for disconnected time like they had before, its now how ever much time they have left on the game clock.  Now while that may be fine once the times drops below 5 or 6 mins, but often a player disconnects in the first ten moves.  Also, there are players that get disconnected several dozen times in one game.  I vote, we limit all disconnect time to 5 mins total, or the lessor of however much time you have left, under 5 mins. That way, if you disconnect for a 1 min, three different times, you will be left with 2 mins remaining.  Because lets get real, sitting through a 25 min abandoned game is very exhausting.  Does anyone second these feelings?  Thank you in advance for your replys and attention.

continual disconnects and trollish clock running down is one of the reasons i switched to 15/10 vs 30 min rapid games (much better to get 2/3 games in same time frame and the quality is nearly the same- only difference is if the game gets to an endgame)

Yup, I understand that, and that's exactly the problem.  Now you have had to switch from what you prefer, to something 2nd best.  And I am sure your not alone.  I think it a complex issue, but worth the merit of looking into.  Also, just played a 30 min game, and the disconnect timer went back to 3 mins.  Is it possible its a bug if its occurring sporadically?
