Basically, you shouldn't play because you're thinking of or hoping to win some prizemoney. You should compete because you enjoy playing the game. Go for it!

I dont know if I am confident so should I do it?
If I spend $60 I can go to a chess tournament out of state top prizes are all over $60 and I would play in a under 1250 us section my rating is about 1100 I have about 2 hours to decide!
