I quit. There's no point. I'm actually trash...

I genuinely am **KINDA** quitting chess until summer of 2028 once all my current daily games are finished...

In May 2025 when I started playing, I was 188 ELO rapid, now I'm 1750~ (actually 1710 because i keep losing), and... i need a long break from this game... i can't just keep playing when I keep losing...

Goodbye fellow chess.com users... see you in over 2 years...
Edit: just to clear things up, I was just joking when I said I'm trash. I just need some time to clear my head and focus on my education. I MIGHT play a few bot games during my break, just so I don't get worse at chess.

edit 2: i added the "**KINDA**"

See you tomorrow.

i'm not GothamChess, I don't just say "I quit" and then play again right after, I'm genuinely quitting after I finish my daily games

and besides, i need to focus on my exams, that's FARRR more important than playing chess

1700s is better than something like 90% of all chess players, so you've made a lot of progress!

Do your best on those exams

Bro, we all have a bad streak sometimes, I lost 100 elo both in chess.com and FIDE, but this month I have been back to my peak performance, just keep trying and try new stuff, it's worth it.

Also don't lie to yourself, you don't have exams for two years straight, that's madness

Break in playing chess does not include break in forum activity by default

Bro, I’ve been playing for 4 years now and I just went from 700 to 500!!!! So 1700 is a very good rating.

Two things:

• 1700 is already respectable, you've no reason to quit, and can focus on improving your chess, rather than letting your losses make you hate the game.

• Second, if you'd like to quit, you may! You needn't make a forum for this.
