The reason is that the Puzzles rating is meaningless, as it's horribly inflated.

In Rapid, the highest rating on chess.com is 2928.

In Puzzles, the highest rating is 65400.

65 400 !!?

Are you not mistaking ?

No ! Someone actually has 65400.

this happens because at the highest puzzle ratings the puzzles repeat; so all you need to do is memorize all of them.

Now I’m 3700

I agree its crazy for example my puzzle rating is almost 7000 but my blitz is 600. Its really bad to base your playing ability off your puzzle rating.

Difference is normal. Puzzle rating is excellent! 🙂

And the highest puzzle rating someone has on chess.com is 65,535 so I am nowhere near that lol

I am curious if membership gives harder puzzles though. When I didn’t have membership, the puzzles were easier.

When you get the membership you have unlimited puzzles so the problem is that when you solve that much puzzles you get stressed and you eventually go to not seeing tactics, not seeing hanging pieces and mates

it's insane

I am 1750 rapid and 3000 puzzles... this is normal because puzzles means that there is a tactic in the position no matter how weird it may appear. Finding and Identifying positions with tactics is one of the hardest parts when it comes to an actual game. Plus, puzzles only focuses on one aspect of games, and doesn't account for the broader topics of openings, endgames, keeping the tension, etc.

Is that the noise your thoughts make before they give up?

I was like 3300 in puzzle rating but 800 in rapid. Is this normal?
