Come back to your thread when you feel like you're losing that new fighting spirit.
I really need to enjoy playing chess...
LOL. I've actually been quite calm, but that is also I'm spending a lot of time covering the Olympiad and doing my threads so I haven't played a game yet today. But I will take your return invitation.
If I DO come back into this thread moaning and sobbing, you guys might just throw hand grenades at me
Nah. But you can post your worst defeats and you'd be surprised at how many people would help you analyze it. The grenades would come when the analysis would differ.
I must say very great replys and to "chessroboto"s frankness post. Would like you to know that I would prefer you as a friend for having such a competitive spirit then one who is uninhibited. This you may not ever to be able to alter, but try not to let your competition know this!
I played in this one major chess tournament while in the military, and I was a sergeant and playing in the final round for 1st place, and my opponent had to be a second lieutenant, uggg! I had to win this game for the enlisted ranks. Yep, I lost it, I was soo angry inside at myself and then out of no where the lieutenant said if you have the time why do you not come over and visit me for coffee and play more chess. Well I did take him up on that and he went on to become a full colonel and me a master sgt. We are life long friends, and we had so many enjoyable games. So moral is try to like your opponent before the games begin! lolo Bob
Yes it is sinking in. I'm not going crazy anymore while I am playing and I'm even playing in 3 Online Chess games, and whatever happens happens. There's always room for improvement and in chess that's extremely true. So thanks again everyone. Your input was much appreciated.
