Sounds like your connection was lost while you were off doing other things. Either that or your opponent moved and if you played less than 10 moves and were away for more than 10 minutes, the game was over. It’s always good to be attentive.
Although, I dislike players who stall too. I think they are preying on the chance that you’ll resign or may lose your connection. It happens too often.

i left a game for a few seconds to go another window, changing the music/video i am listening to while playing, while the other guy is still not playing since several minutes : i got an automatic abandon and i loose the game despite i was in a good position
but some other players can left a game for 15, 20, 25 minutes and there is no automatic abandon
WTF ?!
