Same, and I have no idea. I'm fine with tactics in tactics trainer under a clock, but hang all my pieces in blitz...
I am horrible in blitz
Think of bullet, blitz, correspondence, and long games as different chess variants and maybe it will set your mind at ease.
Powers of observation needed to play very quickly must be developed ... start with short standard Live Chess games, then move to longer Blitz games. Take the time you need to see threats, even if it means you lose on time in a 1/3 of your games. Then try not to lose on time. All this is habit and skill that must simply be grown.
With me, Bullet generates too much adrenalin and anxiety because of the rapid pace. I can sense my heart rate increase. Still, it's fun to play, if only to lose more than my share.
I'd rather be better in CC than blitz. Don't worry about it. I don't know your age or how long you've been playing chess, so it's hard to make any predictions about the odds of you getting better at blitz. I have the same problem you do and I'm an old geezer, so I don't care anymore - well I do but not enuff to cut back on CC in order to devote more time to blitz, which i play occasionally to get "the monkey off my back" as it does seem to be an incurable addiction - for me at least.
Try doing 25 Tactic Trainer puzzles every day if possible if you want to improve your blitz skills. And keep on going back over the ones you missed or made lucky guesses on until you can do them automatically.

I have a horrible record when it comes to playing blitz matches and often make silly mistakes and fail to see skewers and other tactics.I have a decent enough rating in correspondence but just cannot improve in blitz.Does anyone else have this problem and can someone suggest me something?
