Why would black play f6? also what if black does not play Nxe4? Certainly could be playable, but not good enough to be called a ‘new variation’ as f6 is an inaccuracy

If black does not play Nxe4 you should be in a good position if you know theory. Also this is an opening meant for fast games if people see the blunder of d6 and still want to kick out your knight on e5.
