hi everybody. i m trying to learn and have fun and its very dificult for me. i know i play very bad and my rating its only between 700-800 but i loss most of my games by time. i have notice that most of the players with my rating continious playing having lost the queen or in positions totally destroyed, playing only to win and without any skill and i feel very bad because i think that this game its more than only win. what do you think about this friends? (thinking about take lessons too and sorry about my poor english)

Play slower games. 30m or 15|10

Focus on learning rather than just playing hundreds of games. That's what I feel. Read all the lessons on this app. Start solving tactics on this app and other websites. Tactics are very important. Watch good youtube videos for beginners. Play slower games (daily games if you can).

Hola Bor

You are playing too quickly. You must player longer games so you can look at the game. Please play 5 minute games or longer.

How old are you? The younger you are, the more you will improve.

Best wishes, Heather

Chessdotcom that made me laugh quite a bit. Yes, bullet chess is not the way to go for improvement. You have to be able to think critically, notice patterns and recognize key moments. Difficult to do that with 1-3 seconds per move and no studying

It's a big misconception among people that you can become a master by just playing and without studying lessons, tactics or books. There are advanced techniques and methods (for endgame or opening theory) developed over hundreds of years. Nobody can derive all these by simply thinking on his/her own. We have to study to improve. Do you think he will understand concepts such as Lucena position, Philidor position or opposition by just playing bullet games? No chance. Studying is the first step. Playing is the second step.
