I was blind, now I see the truth.

I used to be like most chess.com users, an average chess player who thought chess was an interesting, even entertaining board game/sport/whatever. Only now I realize how wrong I was.

Today, I was shown the truth. The twelfth game of the WC match provided me a new insight on chess.

Chess is a boring, ridiculous activity, whose only purpose is to make us waste our time. Time we could use to be with our family, or even better, to make money by buying Enron shares and selling them at the appropriate moment.

Every game is potentially a draw. There is no interest in playing, a won game is an imperfect game. A drawn game is a boring one.

Time to go and do something useful with my life. As for your, it is your choice, but it could not be more obvious.

And where exactly is this "serious" place that people take their chess games to? I've never heard of it.

MrFahrenKnight

try taking a shot after each move. you'll pass out before you realise it's boring. :)

Chess is a sport, then they can not drink spirits during the games.

GuessWhoIAm

Normally you don't feel the boredom of the game when you're the one playing it. ;)

Barry_Helafonte2

this is why a lot of people stop playing because they realize it is for entertainment.  you can use your time for other things that make you happy
