You would be better off asking directly at the site.
Is anyone here a member of the ICCF?
The powers that be here are more insecure than a 16 year old girl on prom night. Am I pretty enough? Do I make you happy? How dare you glance at that other chess site! I thought I was the only one for you! WAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!

That's not quite the same thing

So we can't ask questions about a chess federation? This isn't a site in direct competition with chess.com, the organization I mention is aligned with FIDE and other national federations. Wow. Doubt I'll pay for another month of chess.com.

you know, when you think a mod might have gone overboard- you can send a friendly pm asking them to reconsider the post.
there not ogres. they are just trying to prevent problems.
I think they have of the hardest most thankless job you can have.

or you could just be rude and endlessly hatin' cause a mod missed the fact that the ICCF wasn't the name of a rival chess website.

What do you want to know?
Im a member there and their databases are the wholy grail of chess (not like chess.com ones, which have so many horrible moves and games in supposedly master only databases.). However I dont have money to pay for the fees and I think now that Im young I should waste my time with OTB chess, I can still be ICCF WC when Im 50, but not OTB Champion when Im 50.
There is another page called Lechenicher ScachServer which has strong correspondence players and is free, you may want to have a tournament there before paying for a tournament fee on the ICCF. Or you may want to play on there, if you dont care about getting an official rating or a ICCF title.

And miss out on the chance to attack someone, and cause drama?

I agree with Diakonia, if a mod is stupid and oppresive enough to block things without even knowing what they are talking about we should use the witch hunting protocol against him.

HEHE, LOOK, A THREAD TALKING ABOUT SOME WEIRD ICCF STUFF, I DONT KNOW WHAT IS THAT, AH, [Edited for language - Mod.], ILL JUST DELETE IT, LLOLOLL, LOOK MOM, I DELETED THIS THREAD.
*months later*
Wonder why that ICCF stuff was, let me google it...oh, wow... International Correspondence Chess Federation... OH HELL NO... wait... I am a mod in a Stalinist like chess page... HEHE, NO PROBLEM, LOL THAT DUD GOT HIS THREAD RECKT.

Youre confusing stupid with ignorant.

you know. your RIGHT!
what was I thinking.
tis the season and all that. make sure you tell all the world how much pain and anger you feel towards such scum
it helps, I guess....
anyways, I'm done with the hijack.
personally, I find postal mail correspondence chess incredibly tedious.

I enjoy correspondance chess as long as they dont allow engines. But obviously that is no guarantee.
Is anyone here a member of the ICCF? I just joined, may enter an event or two after the holidays. Curious if anyone has any direct experience with it.
