I'd like some really good Chess players to give Chess 2 a go.

Here is a new interesting Chess game called "Chess 2: The Sequel" http://ludemegames.com/chess2/

I've been trying to get good players to play it and see what they think.  I'd like to see some hardcore players give the game a try.

You can win by moving your king ahead a few squares? Am I understanding this correctly?

Site says there are six armies to chose from which gives you 21 possible starting combinations?  Mathematically that does not work.  The factors of 21 are 3 and 7.  With six choices there should be either 36 possible positions, both sides having a choice from one of six.  Or 30 possibilities if the second player is not allowed to chose the same army.

Checkmates do happen in Chess 2, but they are the second most common way to win now.  The most common way to win is by "Invasion."  That happens when your King moves into the other enemies half of the board without being in check.

There are Six "Armies" which are different chess sets to play as.  None are radically different, though the differences are substantial.  (Personally I think they should have kept it down to like 4).  The game cost 10$ and you can play Correspondence games too if you can't find someone Live.

Yeah, I dunno, the "invasion" thing just seems.....odd.

Well, fair warning its not the most controversial thing in my opinion.  And what i mean by that is I think almost everybody will agree.  The oddest thing is the stone system.  Personally I wish they would have scrapped that and limited it to 4 armies.

Overall i really do enjoy the game.  People are willing to run correspondence games too.

Laughing  Its really fun guys Wink

PossibleOatmeal

zero chance it becomes popular while costing $10

CHEssGUEVARA

Lol.  I don't think it will ever be popular in any major way at all.  It does have a small player base that is seems like they are often ready to make some moves on a correspondence game (we keep several up with different people and you just pop up when logged on so you can conveniently get games going)

They really outta just release it for free though.
