idea to avoid draws in WCC

one color has loss odds (draw odds, w.e you want to call it)

something like: prior to the individual game a coin flip decides a color- heads signifies white and tails black. the color "chosen" from the coin flip is the color with loss odds. if magnus is white and the color determined by the coin flip is white, a draw or loss for white (magnus in this case) is a loss for white. if the next game magnus is black and black is chosen as the draw loss odds color, a draw or a loss is considered a loss for him.

the players do not know who has the loss odds until a conclusion to the game has been reached

or.... we could let the two best players battle with the existing rules and allow them to find weaknesses in each other over time.... How many draws do WCC usually start with? This isn't abnormal. Now, reducing the time control is something I can get behind.

I personally think you are trying to solve a non-problem. I have watched all or part of all games to this point, and IMO it has been a very interesting match so far. Draws can be a problem where they are prearranged and the chess can then be very ho-hum. But clearly the players HAVE been trying to win here and obviously the have every reason to try and do so.

Obviously, the WCC would be more fun if nobody had Stockfish and the players all played like Alekhine and Tal.

But these have been competitive, interesting games. Both players have had the advantage at times with the black pieces. It's engaging, even if it's not the most spectator-friendly chess every played.

This can be solved if you do the point system like soccer. Draw is 1 point for both, win is 3. Then you would see players actually try to win...
