Yes, because 100% of the time a tree falls in the woods, it makes a sound. It woulden't change that, now would it?

How is it that it doesn't make a sound just because you're not there. Does you being there increase the energy or something?! Or does the definition of sound mean it has to be heard for it to count? And why is that? Does hearing something change things somehow?

O.K. new tactic; sound is differentiating sound pressure, correct? so the creation of sound is by moving air, right? When a tree falls, how does it get from standing to the ground? It pushed the air out of the way, thereby creating air pressure, and creating sound.

So I think it does the same thing as sound, but it doesn't count because no one heard it. But something had to still happen.

Has anyone noticed that he never mentioned that the tree was falling? Read again... "IF THERES A TREE IN A FOREST AND NOBODY IS THERE TO HEAR IT DOES IT MAKE A SOUND?" so why would a tree want to make a sound just because there is no one around to hear it?

What the hell kind of question is that? Of course it’s still makes a sound. If you created the loudest noise on earth and then moved all the people on the exact opposite side of earth do you think they would hear it? Theoretically speaking, if you or I created a sound wave that’s frequency and wavelength to —with gravity of course— be able to travel the distance of the earth. Would those people that’s on the other side of the earth be able to hear it? Yes. Yes they would.

If the tree falls it will makes a lot of vibrations in both the air and ground but it does not make a sound. Sound is only created when the vibrations in the air are converted into electrical signals in your ear. No ear, no sound.

Not so rare and not so bad. It depends on your definition of "sound". The most prevalent definition being what is heard by the ear.
