You would get a three and half hour dinner with this person at any restaurant of your choosing.
LIST YOUR TOP 3:
mine?
1. Yasser Seirawan
He seems to have endless stories from the past that are interesting. SEemingly genuinely nice personality.
2. Jennifer Shahade
She seems so friendly and warm of a person. I'd just want to meet her to chat about anything (chess or not).
3. Hikaru Nakamura
Very outspoken chess genius, who I'd love to ask tons of chess-related questions to. I'd pick Magnus here, but I fear Magnus wouldn't be as talkative and outgoing as Naka. The conversation might stall.
I feel Naka is outgoing and talkative enough that I'd be able to get him to divulge useful stuff for me.
I might go with your top two. Yasser is just so genuinely nice, even if we didn't talk about chess, I think it would be a great lunch. And Jennifer seems so positive and engaging it would make for a fun girls' night out, plus I'm equally in love with poker as she seems to be. I'm from St. Louis and she follows me on Instagram, maybe I'll ask her to dinner when she gets back from Barcelona and let you know what it's like!
But for my third I'd probably pick Levon (literally just because I think he's adorable), or Kasparov because I'd love to talk politics and the approaching election here in the US.
@karpark
your so right. oc he was paranoid about having any know EXACTLY who he was- so, I suspect he couldn't hobnob with any of us patzers irl.
besides, all this "best prodigy since fischer" was kind of boring and old.
I really wouldn't want to hear hours of bragging. instead, talking about chess- talk about big games and big egos. someone that has mingled with the supergm's for a while.
unfortunately, I know None of these guys. my list is as imaginary as this "dinner date" with any chess player. it would be neat to get to know them though.
sigh.
the life I would live If I could get to be 2600 rated. oh well.
on the other hand, its nice to know a few chess.com people. there's a few people here I would love to meet irl.
