If you don’t accept at least one rematch after you win, then you lose.

Obviously muted for spouting nonsense that no one agrees with on his other accounts. The guy is a delusional sore loser that takes losses personal for no reason.

Oh im not trolling. I really believe in most circumstances where the player is going to play more games after, and wont accept a rematch, that they are, indeed, mostly cowards. My user name Is directly because of people like that (you?).

Ohhh, the chess.com detective/psychologist. There are plenty of people that agree with my sentiments. No one is saying anyone is obligated, just that it shows what the persons competitive spirit is made of. It makes sense I guess, since most people on here have never played competitive sports and dont understand pride and honor in competition.

Maybe they saw that they made you cry like a little baby and didn't want to be there when you have your nappie changed.

Or maybe post-game analysis shows im at a huge advantage but I ran out of time, and their little feewings hurt at the thought of hitting accept on a rematch. Y'all soft in here. I can see by how arduously you oppose the sentiment, that you have at least a few dozen declined rematches under your belt lmao

More than a coward, I think I must be dense. It is beyond my understanding how a board game (let alone played anonymously in the net) can be related to bravery or cowardice.

You ran out of time, it's part of the game... do you realise this? You lost in a completely legitimate way and you are crying about it on the internet. No one cares. Baby.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion even it just advances your pre-supposed agenda.
Wow, this is so entertaining, as a new chess player, I didn't know the chess community was so funny xD. I personally haven't re-matched anyone, is there a button to re-match, or do you have to add as a friend to do this? When I go against good players I will definitely look to rematch them.

He's well aware of that. We are biting like idiots. But it is funny.

It's easy. People are usually motivated (at least slightly) to winning a game, whether in person or online. Chess is a game that is devoid of luck, it relies 100% on human intellectual faculties. So there can be a clear association (not saying it makes one smarter or dumber) between chess intelligence, winning and losing. When someone beats you, it is because they thought better than you, I think even the most novice player can understand that. More that being scared of the other person, they are afraid of their own mental inadequacies relative to a thing they know is another person on the other side. People get scared playing video games because of the difficulty, you dont think a game against another human which pits one brain vs another wont yield insecurities and fears influencing decisions not to play players who were beating you, but lost because they just didnt have enough time?

I'm not saying running out of time isn't losing. It is. What im saying is that the person knows that the other was mentally beating them, and no one likes to feel dumb. Most take the "W" and run because they know what is probable if they were to play again.

Person 1: *Oh sweet I am gonna have time for a nice game before dinner*
Person 2: *omg this guy didn't accept my rematch offer he must think he is better than me I am so insecure and immature I think I will make a thread and complain about this because focusing on my chess and improving won't work anyway since I am a donkey"

Mentally you were losing, you were slow. Maybe your opponent didn't want to rematch a turtle brained baby.

@youreacoward69 I’m curious if you feel the same about other games or sports. In the “spirit of competition”, do you feel a rematch is always warranted or obligated?

Of course not. What's the point of playing chess, then?
People who don't accept rematches are cowards. Period. Unless they are not playing again, they're straight up spineless.
Yea, they are too afraid of your rating.
Has nothing to do with rating. Like I said, most of the time rematches are declined in my experience, are from games when im in winning positions and lose by time or stalemate. Im guessing the psychology is that they feel how inferior they are, and they feel lucky to escape. Since everyone cares about winning and losing (if they didn't no one would bother to learn how to move at all or improve), it is better to preserve ones emotions of themselves than to face what is most likely the outcome of the rematch. I would say its definitely not 100% (some dont want to play another game), but if you're going to play again, you're really saying "I wanna play other peopleeeeeeeeee" is really the excuse? hahahah. You can play unlimited games. Sometimes the opponent is so bad its laughable to rematch them, but from my experience with ratings being more or less the same, this is not the case. So while yes, it's true, no one is obligated to rematch, I would say in many circumstances it says a lot about the person not willing to accept.
