The least interesting parts of this thread are the ones that make up the 2-1/2 year seminar on how to use strategically in a sentence, imo.
How long does it need to go on? Will 10 years be too much? So 2-1/2 years isn't?
I don't see how the last dozen pages or so constitute a downturn. Even if it were no better than the usual fare here, it represented a change of diet, at least something different.
