That's the most depressing thing I've heard in weeks.

...especially since you may well be right.

Well sure, maybe life imitates chess...except (fortunately) I've never wound up in a Russian prison...

There's still time.  Never give up those dreams!

hi borgqueen,i have a question.i read the book of kasparov ''the title of the book is ''how life emitates chess.so my question is do you believe in his book ?.and can you give me an example about this book of how life emitates chess.i wait again to your response borgqueen.

If it is in fact true, that life imitates chess, I expect the focal point of this corruption, could well be at the highest level of the game, how are we to approach the halting of this force that is governing our lives?

thank you borgqueen.i have another question,i heard that there is a university in russia teaching for chess only,so is this is true?.if this is true that means chess is too broad, and it is unbelievable, imagine a university only for chess.if am become a millionaire i will go there and study chess.i wait again to your response borgqueen.

Maybe you just caught a glimpse of part of yourself in a mirror.  I mean, no offense, but your species isn't exactly noted for correctly interpreting mirrored images, and your fur is somewhat ginger in color . . .

Coupled  to foregoing...could have been an all-over iced ginger.

hi borgqueen,i have a simple question to you,do you have any idea why they dont show the game of some grandmaster on tv?.i heard that in russia they show every game on tv but here in the philippines and usa they dont show it,is this is how the chess is not popular now?.i wait again to your response borgqueen.

Eebster

Borg, to be fair, it doesn't make much sense to televise entertainment that doesn't entertain very many people. It's not like there is a lot of educational value in televised chess that we are missing out on--it's just a game people don't want to watch.

kco

I agree there Borg also televise on chess shouldn't have to be focus on games it could also focus on current, past and future players and news on up coming matches and tournaments around the globe.

artfizz

Animate the chess pieces on TV for a cheap thrill - or ultimate chess waste of time?

I'd MUCH rather watch televised chess than some of the absolute crap I see on TV these days.  Big brother springs to mind nicely.

Yeah, but there is a very small market for that kind of show. In order for it to get televised, people would need to watch it, and I have a feeling very few people would. Just because you personally like that show does not mean that it is worth broadcasting over public channels.
