Illegal Castle from Game on this Website
The king never passed through or landed on an enemy controlled square.
this
this thread is a really bad troll thread, people need to learn how to troll better
Yes it did...the bishop has a path through the second castle.
The rook can move through an attacked square, but the king cannot. The castling move in this case is legal.
Erik would never go for it of course, since he wants the site to be as profitable as possible, but maybe you should have to pass a basic chess competency test before you're allowed to play? And yes, qudhru, I'm talking about you...
Ok I get it. Sorry for the inconvience..... I checked the rules and it never mentioned the queenside castle rules.

+1 would like to see that implement.
The only weird thing about this is that Kortchnoi (as an adult) got confused about this very rule. Go figure.

The rules are the same both sides, that's why it's not mentioned specifically.
You don't ask how a kingside bishop captures just because it's on a different colour.
ease up a bit will ya ....he said he got it.
No it's a very valid point
It doesn't matter which side... The rules are exactly the same
The op claims he didn't know the rules flr "queenside castling
Not any different
He coulda done the same King side
Doesn't mattdr
It never ceases to amaze me how many people blame the program for the malfuction between their own ears. I've never seen this site allow an illegal move, but I've been prevented from making seemingly legal moves dozens of times, due to things I didn't notice, like a pin or a bishop on the other side of the board.
I've played OTB games where we both realize one of us goofed a few moves back. I finally notice a bishop or something that I overlooked previously, and now I can't have castled, or can't have pushed that pawn or whatever; or I let my opponent get away with something like that myself. It happens.
The other thing that happens OTB is "is this checkmate?" One of us thought it was, and it wasn't. I've even played game where we both agreed that such and such was a mate, and then later we realize there was a way to block the final check or one of the attacking pieces was hanging or whatever. Oops. It happens.
However, none of this EVER happens using this site's engine to prevent illegal moves. It has better board vision than the best human I've ever played, and it has a more thorough understanding of the rules too.

It is my understanding that the rules are that the king is not allowed to castle through check either on the queen or the kings side. However with my game that is exactly what happened. I reported it to the website.
