Play unrated until you feel more confident that you can win. Also, play against bots, and OTB. Self analyze your games and figure out what mistakes you are making often so that you can learn from them.

Hi, I am an admin in the anti-trolling club, and was sent to recruit people who hate trolling, and you are invited.

How does playing unrated games help them, that is just stupid advice. Unrated players are harder to beat, their elo's never match their ability, so they will get beaten by players with elo's of half theirs, which will crush any confidence they have.

Don’t worry about online ratings, especially for speed chess. These ratings are very unreliable. If your actual skill level is 600, you should expect your rating to vary from 500 to 700. So, a frop of 100 points is common.

Better to emphasize skill level than rating. If you work on basic chess principles, your results—and rating—will improve.

You can learn from Chess Youtuber such as Gothamchess or Chesspage1, they are helpful. To practice you can play against Chess bots on 2 crowns, 100-300 points above your elo. You can analyze those games, and repeat until you feel like you can play a rated game.

That literally happened to me too! But now I’m back up into the 600s. Just takes some time to get back up. Also, don’t resign. I do it too much but I’ll stop the habit soon. And do longer time controls. A couple of months ago, my elo went way up just because I did longer time controls.

What I meant was to not play rated games, doesn't have to be specifically chess.com's unrated feature. Also there will be discrepancy between rating and skill level everywhere, you might have players with inflated ratings, or smurfs. It's pretty common
