I'm always getting resigned on.

Hello, I recently got into chess.com 3 days ago, and I don't think I've ever won by checkmate here before. My opponent always resigns, and while it gives me points, I am terrible in the endgame. Is there any way I can practice someplace better? I've tried with bots, but they are a bit predictable.

Also, while you are here, can anyone explain the rules of rankings here? What are these stone, wood, and bronze division things? Also, what are the other ranking things, like rapid and blitz?

Hello,

Rankings are more like legions, or that's how I look at it. For every game you play, you get a certain amount of trophies. Your goal is to be in the top 5 trophy count in your division- you'll move up to the next legion. For your resignation issue..You could ask people on the forums to play you until the very end, or just play a lot more people-I've started to checkmate a few, but people still resign.

I didn't really think anyone would answer, so thanks :]

I think I'm actually in second place for my division thing. That means I'll advance into another division?

Also, I just won a game with checkmate, finally.

(I was doing really bad in the first half)

Yeah, you'll advance into the next division if you can maintain the top 5 spot until the season ends

Play the longer games. That should reduce the number of resignations. Too many people always in a hurry

Leagues are a form of ranked competition, centered around the quantity of chess games you can play.  This page gives a basic understanding: https://www.chess.com/leagues

This article goes into more depth: https://support.chess.com/article/2813-what-are-leagues-how-do-i-join-one

I know I’ve been on chess.com longer than you have, but honestly I have the same question. I’m 1500 and I can’t for the life of me remember how to hold drawn king&pawn endgames, and when I practice against a bot they do this

No; resignations are more likely in longer games.

Too many players do not resign in bullet and blitz games due to the time factor.

How about over-the-board games with your friends or fellow local chess players?
