I'm done with blitz.

Dude you're rated higher than 95 percent of people here. Quit whining.

Well, I've decided to give blitz another go, and it's been even worse.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that everyone on this site can somehow play faster than me. 7 losses in a row today. It's unbelieveably, ridiculously frustrating. It's depressing.

The only explanation that I can give is that almost everyone is using engines to help them think quickly. 1650 - 1700 players do not play this quickly and this well over the board and that is a fact. I know from experience.

It's not "whining", it's a legitimate complaint.

And 95% is exaggerating, don't you think?

My blitz rating would definitely be over 100 points higher if I didn't lose on time, but the problem is that my opponents always play suspiciously fast and accurately no matter what their rating is. It's a joke.

No it's not exaggerating. I'm in the 90th percentile at 1507. Everybody can say they would be a 100 points higher if not for time losses. I lose games on time all the time. I've had numerous losses when I'm a move or two from mate and lag makes me lose. I don't come on here crying about it. If you can't handle losses like that then don't play blitz.

Why is it whenever someone on chess.com makes a constructive complaint its seen as "crying"? I'm just making observations.

To be honest, it doesn't matter what game type I play since everyone plays ridiculously quickly on all of the modes, so it's not just blitz.

Also, it's a lot easier to find a match with 10 minute blitz than with any other mode for some reason - don't ask me why.

I can handle losses, just not a massive streak of losses caused by everyone playing suspiciously fast and accurately. But I get what you are saying.

I feel you.  I stopped with the nonsense a few months back.  Though I feel if I started playing it on chess.com again my rating will shoot up.

If you were lower rated then I wouldn't consider it crying but seriously dude, the average blitz rating here is like 1100. IMO you have no business complaining when you're over 500 points above average. Just think how frustrating it is to be that bad at blitz (1100). If you do, I think you'll be thankful that you are where you are. Given your standard rating, you should actually be rated lower in blitz than what you are.

You just 'debunked' your own theory that everybody is cheating.

It's likely that one, or even a few people are cheating here and there.

But 7 in a row? All different opponents? That's a clear sign that the reason you're losing is that you're not as good as your opponents, not that they're cheating. You can believe what you want, but that's the reality.

And if it makes you feel any better - I was rated 1600+ blitz like you about 3 weeks ago, and after a pretty typical bad stretch, I'm 1470 today. Feels like everyone's crushing me, which they are, but I know from experience, I'll go on a countercrush streak and win like 12 in a row and be 1600+ again before I know it.

"Cheats" are discussed (exclusively) in the "Cheating Forum."

That discussion is dense, somewhat difficult, but includes a few excellent players (and coaches) that can summarize the topic persuasively.

Consider requesting membership there, or risk getting this thread locked.

A blitz rating correlates to a global percentile relative to other players on this particular site. You can fairly compare your rating to the ratings of other players using the same blitz mode - apples-to-apples.
