Don't base your happiness on achieving a number.
This is absurd. I don't care about the number 2200, I am in fact horrible at Math and even thinking of numbers makes me sick. But 2200 represents the hard work and success I've had in Chess. Is it wrong to be joyful about succeeding in your goals and having tangible evidence of your growth? It's just crazy to me that you can come on a forum, criticize someone for accomplishing something they worked hard for, and feel it is appropriate. It's literally no different than telling an Olympian gymnast that they shouldn't be so happy about how well they can jump.
