Don't base your happiness on achieving a number.

This is absurd. I don't care about the number 2200, I am in fact horrible at Math and even thinking of numbers makes me sick. But 2200 represents the hard work and success I've had in Chess. Is it wrong to be joyful about succeeding in your goals and having tangible evidence of your growth? It's just crazy to me that you can come on a forum, criticize someone for accomplishing something they worked hard for, and feel it is appropriate. It's literally no different than telling an Olympian gymnast that they shouldn't be so happy about how well they can jump.

Yeah. It´s not the most important thing in the world, but it´s still a great achievement that shows your love and passion for chess.😄

So if your rating does not get to 2000 you are somehow inferior?

Live for a number if you wish. It looks s a hollow pursuit but if it floats your boat.

Why do you assume there's nothing else that makes me happy? My family and children make my happy. A scotch makes me happy. A dog makes me happy. What is your point? It feels like you're more fixed on the number than anyone else here, I seriously doubt the OP actually cares about 2000 because she likes the number. She cares because it represents her impressive growth putting her in the top 40,000 online and in the 99.9th percentile.

In some cases, but who knows? Maybe they´re like a 2100 but are in 1500 bc of inactivity.
