"I managed to win" ++ Congrats
"analyzing a lot of my games and learning from my mistakes" ++ Excellent
"what I should training"
++ Play practice games of the same time control as the tournament against a strong engine. The goal is not to win or draw - you will not - but to mercilessly expose your weaknesses and cure these.
So recently we had a tryouts session at our school and I managed to win.
By January will be the school tournament, and I'm trying to prepare for it by analyzing a lot of my games and learning from my mistakes.
I'm not very confident in my chess skills because I lost the last year I joined in our school chess tournament.
I am asking for advice on what I should be focusing on in practice and what I should be training to improve my chances in the tournament as well as my overall play.
