Imaginary chess: if you could invent a totally new piece to chess, what it could it be?
That's called an amazon.
the american dude:
moves like a king and can shoot any piece (including friendly ones) with his .44 magnum
but i would make it so that the chariot can move like a rook and a knight
The Osprey aircraft.
Half helicopter, half fixed wings.
Should only move 4 squares orthogonally maximal.
wait isnt that just a regular helicopter

The halfer: Moves like a queen, but isn't on either team. When some random guy walks by the two people playing chess, they can move the halfer to any place on the board, including taking pieces. The halfer cannot be taken.

The halfer cannot deliver check or checkmate.
1. The Prince and Princess. The prince starts on c1 and princess on f1. The prince moves two spaces in any direction. If the king is checkmated and the prince is on the board, it may become the new king, and you would remove the old king. Same idea with the Queen and princess.
2. Fence. Moves one space up or down, and any number of spaces left and right. Starts on a1 or h1. Friendly pieces can move through it, enemies can’t it will not be captured.
3. Force Field. Starts on d1. No enemy pieces can land adjacent to it, but it can be captured. (This begins next to the king so the king can’t be checkmated by fool’s mate or something.)
4. Fighters. Begins on a2-h2. Move up two, or sideways one. Captures by moving up one.
Lastly, 5. Catapult. Begins on b1 or g1. Moves to any spot in the 5x5 area around it, IF it could maneuver there like a rook. ( So if it’s on a1, pawn on a2 and knight on b1, it can’t go to b2. But if the pawn were on a2 instead, it could.)
Name of the piece: The End
You can unlock the End piece by promoting you 3rd pawn into an End, you can not promote your first or second pawn to an End, only the 3rd pawn and the rest after.
Once you promote the 3rd pawn to an end, on the very next move you can place the End on any square on the board whether there was a piece or mate in one. Although, the End can be captured once it is promoted if the promotion square is guarded.
The letter symbol for the End is 'Z', like how it is the end of the alphabet.
Example;
Moving: Zc4
Capturing: ZxRe8
Being promoted: h8Z
Teleporting: Z/a7 or Z/x.a7
