Hello, I need some insights on how to improve my chess ratings, I've solved so many puzzles and online random matches, but my ratings is getting worse. I need help.

Learn the fundamentals (also called principles) and blunder less
These are usually the largest problems beginners face, with most games under 1000 being decided by blunders. (a losing mistake, i.e. losing your queen in one move.)
for blunders, while it might sound overkill, simply check each of your opponents pieces and what they can "see" (the squares they can move to) each turn.
Learning a simple opening like the london for white and the kings indian for black can also help remove early game blunders.
And for fundamentals, here are some to start:
- Try to avoid putting knights on the edge of the board, especially corners. (they can get trapped easily, in addition to not being as useful)
- Control the center with your pawns and pieces, this allows you to move your pieces more easily & comfortably throughout the middlegame.
- If you cant figure out what to do for a move, Improving the activity of a less active/undeveloped piece can be incredibly productive (Unless its a blunder of course!)
Of course this is only the absolute basics of chess, so I would highly recommend searching for ways to learn in more depth.
