Improvement

I started playing chess a few months ago and since then I have been constantly trying to improve my game. I play a lot of bullet chess now and my rating is 1100-1200. My ratings have all improved greatly and I can beat people OTB I couldn't before. However my blitz rating is just staying the same. I realize that your blitz rating doesn't define your chess game because it is between bullet (super fast) and rapid/untimed (super slow). Does anyone have any tips for me on how to improve. Currently I spend time doing tactics, playing games, and soon I will be reading a chess book. Through past experiences I have learned that practice makes perfect. But the way I normally practice is by doing whatever it is I need to be practicing. For example if I need to practice soccer I will play a soccer game. But I have found that this is different with chess. Do you think I should study more than I play, because as of now most of my practice is playing bullet games. Once again if anyone has different ways I can improve that would be great.
Thanks :)

I think playing long games (15|10 and 30|0) and doing lots of tactics really helps to improve. If you start watching chess videos (matojelic and kingcrusher are good) it may help, in the videos they go through famous games and explain the reason behind the moves. I strongly suggest long games and tactics, only watch videos if you enjoy doing so (I do).

I think you should stop playing bullet chess and blitz chess. Then start playing standard time controls and then study the game.
