Improvement Or Not?

Is it just me, or have I improved a lot over the past 3 months? On my other account, which is now closed from aborting too many games, I was rated 1156, but now I'm rated 1548. The problem is that I don't feel that I've improved.

Half is lag, when I join a game it just crashes and I end up aborting. The other half, I just don't want to play that colour after losing about 2-3 times in a row with it.
