I have several very short games (< 6 moves) that include 1 move abandonment. They that screw up my game statistics. Can Chess, com develop a way to remove such short games from the history? I see no benefit of any kind to grouping these games in with real chess games.
Improvement Suggestions in Chess.com
I'll leave you to figure out the how. I'll tell you the what.
- # games played
- # wins vs losses
- # wins, losses, games played using that opening
- accuracy ratings
- maybe other statistics you can figure out
These games are not a true reflection of my chess ability or lack thereof. To me they contribute nothing of significance, only a source of annoyance and misleading statistics.

Thanx but anyway I prefer the simplicity of the current approach: a game is a game, even with a single move inside. The impact of these games on statistical data or chess skill representation is usually negligible and gets less significant while you keep playing
I recently signed onto MS 365 and tried to analyze myself on Excel. After entering a few column titles, the AI kicked in to ask me if I wanted it to create the spreadsheet. It proved to be too complex to show in Excel apparently, but then the AI proposed a more complete analysis with charts & all, almost like a You can then filter out anything u want. I excluded all games with < 6 moves to get what I want. A nice thing is that all games are classified by opening to shoe where I excel or need practice. So far my best openings are London System, Accelerated London System and Queen's Gambit Declined. As my # games increases, it'll be a useful addition to Chess.com.
When I played correspondence chess (50 years ago) I had 2 boards, 1 for the running game, and 1 for me to write out various moves. It would be nice if Chess.com could provide a 2nd board to play out a position without analyzing it. Currently I use the analysis board in set up position mode, but it takes a lot of clicks to get it and the real side by side to set up the board. So I take a pic of the real board to set up the analysis board. Then each move i want to look at is also made in set up position mode.
There's GOT to be an easier way.
i used my ipad to open a chess board app which did not have access to any engine if playing both sides. It worked fairly well and I could take back moves and try others. Nowadays I prefer Daily Game where its version of Analysis is made precisely to allow one to play out lines as a test. Daily Game is far more than a pretty face.
of course that doesn't help with OTB. i am sorry i do not have any ideas about that.

But just like in life, EVERYONE knows the WHAT ... it is the HOW that leaves us all pondering. but you are correct ... no number can properly evaluate your chess skill - only you can do that. I am sure you already instinctively know that.
Your frustration seems to be more that CC doesn't provide you the answer but it simply can not (at least I don't think so). just as IQ doesn't properly reflect a person's intelligence, Ratings falls short in same way. I am sorry sir but I think that's just life.
wanna play a game? :-)

How on Earth do you think it's close to cheating?
If you think it is, then you should tell those people that once in, they can't abandon!
Ratings are the only way I know to see if I'm really improving, but giving me 100% accuracy for a <6 move game does not demonstrate improvement. It demonstrates the lack of courtesy of others.
