Improving these three day groups games?

I am still new here and learning the ins and outs so to speak. I have always been a hard core OTB player so my chess rating is for real 1650 - 1750 USCF, or FIDE and in OTB events I would be of litlle problem with 1500 - 1600.Only when I played against 1900 players I realized I have alot more to learn, if I can?  But I find myself in a game where a 1500 plus players are playing like a 1900 rated player.  This is where you have like "3 Days to think your answer.  I have found that you can have a month to think your move out and if you do not have the higher level skill you are not going to come up with a better move then you could in 30 minutes.

I just wonder if there would be a way to make these three day games such that you have three days to respond, but once you open your move only then do you see what move your opponent did and your clock starts ticking,  therefore you do not have three days to put an analyzer or such to see various possiblilities. Please understand I am not making any accusations, it would eliminate alot of possiblities.  I realize that chess.com has so many intricacies going on right now, this though is asking too much,  But its just a question??? please forgiveEmbarassed

This idea has actually come up before, although for different reasons than yours.

It's an interesting alternate time control, but I doubt we're going to see it.

You must remember it is legal to use opening databases in online games, so 'weaker' players will often play openings very well.
