Improving Your Game With Simple Techniques

I am curious to know what simple things you have done to drastically improve your game. For example, I recently decided to analysis every game I play, but only up to the first move that is inaccurate or worse. I do this to avoid feeling overwhelmed by the task of diving deep into every one of my games when really I just want to play and have some fun. I try to take a lesson from that first hiccup, and then I'm done. I have found this simple technique to be really helpful and already jumped up 150 points in a few days. I'm curious what other approaches may exist that are effective and relatively simple/undaunting to implement (i.e. not requiring hours at a time). Have you guys found anything like this that has worked for you?
