Micheal Jackson is/was ugly
In honour of MJ - well maybe not

It just seems a shame that a man who was so talented early on, let his life get away from him. I remember when they announced a few months back that he was going to do 50 shows in London, I was thinking how was he going to do this when he has always looked frail in the last 10 years. This was a person who got old way before his time.

... baby-sitter cum child minder ...
What an unfortunate choice of phrasing.
(There are some words that just should not coexist in the same sentence nor spoken in the same breath).
Pepsi announced a new promotional Pepsi packaging in honor of Michael Jackson.
It comes in little cans!

That's just wrong man.

i was shocked to learn of MJ's demise, but then I wondered why? All of us are born into this relm and to leave it we must "die". His life (like ours) was full of issues, but his issues were or a greater scale. Being in the public eye takes a huge toll on ones life, especially if that life is not filled with subtance of a higher level.
My condoncence to his family because no matter what we (the public) thinks of him and his actions, someone loved him and and greve him; we all will miss him in this relm; maybe not his deeds, but at least his talents.
A life lived, a life lost- birth, death- A path we all must take! It is what we do in between that marks the worth of a person.
May G-D have mercy on his soul, because only G-D, really knew this person, MJ.

MJ was a good singer but I think the reason he was a 'much sought after child-minder' was he was abused as a child...that doesn't excuse what he did to his son (dangle him out of a window)
I feel so bad for him. So many bad things happened to him, most notably getting abused by his father. And then his head catching on fire at that pepsi commercial. Maybe if his father hadn't abused him, he would be still a great legend, and still living. Amen, rest in peace Michael Jackson.

Very true.
We can't jump to assumptions as we know very little, really about his 'private life'.

I do get mixed up with MJ and OJ.
One killed his wife but got away with it the other was a paedophile and got away with it.
Which way round is it?

His non-existent childhood adversely affected the rest of his life. He wanted to catch up on it with 'Netherland', and his odd behavior is possibly due to the beatings he received from his father to force him into get better at his music. For those of you who have read 'Shadows', by Tim Bowler, Jamie is a perfect copy of him, in the first section of the book, just squash replaces music.

I was thinking of starting a Michael Jackson memorial tournament in Abercundy. But then I remembered that he is reviled amongst the chess community for his heretical views.
I quote directly from one of his songs: "It doesn't matter if you're black or white"
I mean that's plain ridiculous - you have completely different openings for black versus white it's a different strategy and gameplan even a different mindset.
He might have been a great singer and a much sought after baby-sitter cum child minder but he obviously knew kak all about chess.
