just played 5min against opponent who had an increment in the end game that i did not have. he was lost with only king against king/queen. How is it possible?

He didn't have an increment, but he was only using 0.1 seconds from move 55 onwards, except in the cases where clearly that premove wasn't valid, which meant he spent a few more seconds adjusting.
