So please, send us the information. Please name a single player who earned a USCF NM title playing exclusively games that with G/60 or faster time controls.
Now I remember him.
Again, maybe not exclusively, but a very high ratio IIRC.
USCF ID 13377996:
MATTHEW J O'BRIEN

Thanks. He certainly does play a lot of Active Chess time controls. But as I expected, he also plays long time control events. Another player with a similar profile is Sam Shankland. Of course, he too plays his share of long time control games.
There are plenty of players who mostly play rapid time controls. But @Coffeeand420 made an extraordinary claim, that there are masters who play exclusively G/60 and faster time controls.
...
As you said yourself, either it's true or it's not true. If it's true and you can name someone you know of, personally or otherwise, who earned a NM title playing only fast standard chess, I'd love to learn about him or her. Nobody I have spoken to, including tournament organizers and coaches, knows of anyone who has done as you claim.
As I said, it's possible. I'd love to learn.
Again, I'm not going to waste time arguing about this with a stubborn old man. Enjoy your night. You did learn something, though: You now know that the USCF absolutely would allow someone to gain a title by playing nothing but speed chess. That you did not know but learned as a result of my posting. That's a fact and it's right here for the whole world to see. You just refuse to tell us how you feel about it.
Thank you SmyslovFan for making the time and effort to talk with these folks. Aren't you glad you did?
