Initiative Bends The Rules

I just used a SECRET FORMULA to break every one of the master rules chess players shy away from, and WON. Johnny Knoxville couldn't have broken 'em this well.

Okay 😕 you got me, these aren't necessarily rules per se, they're one of those things we avoid doing most of the time because we are afraid. How often do you play h3 g4 to remove a troublesome bishop? Here's what I did:

  • Traded a bishop for a knight - check
  • Fast moves - check
  • h3 g4 - check
  • Exposed kingside - check
  • Queen never moved not once - check
  • Missed a pawn fork 😅 - check
  • Etc. - pin.pngcheck

I could do it because I had initiative. You can't afford to downplay initiative. Initiative wins games. Spectacular sacrifices and immortal games? Guess what - initiative. Just by saying initiative 5 times before you start a match you'll be playing a better game.
