I think it is obvious that you take this "GAME" much to seriously for an 18/19 year old kid.  Your talent level for the game is above average, but nothing that will ever bring you income.  So if you enjoy the game as a hobby (which is fine) and enjoy learning more about it (which is also fine), make sure that you also are not neglecting other areas of your life. 

Obviously you aren't working right now cause you keep insisting on taking out a pathetic personal attack on me (which I think is hilarious by the way).

And after seeing your self-picture I can also tell you are without a significant other, which should be a priority since chess is just going to be a hobby for you.

Also get a new idol.  Bobby Fischer was not someone to pattern a life after.

I don't really know why I'm responding to all of this, it's pretty straightforward trolling, but I couldn't really care less. As for what I want out of chess, you might be happy to know that it's certainly not money. I do intend to gain a national master title fairly soon though (fairly soon being a relative term, within two years would be sufficient for me) and maybe even grow from there. Whether or not you believe I have the talent to do so doesn't really matter to me at this point.

I still don't really understand from where you have drawn these conclusions. I play two - five games of chess online per week (while also stumbling, literally, through some CC games) and spend maybe six or seven hours a week studying chess independantly.

If you believe that's cause for concern, well, what can I say?

Anyone who could claim that making a personal attack obviously indicates a lack of employment, and then follow up directly, (literally in the very next sentence) by personally attacking someone based on his physical appearance, in a chess forum no less, obviously has some serious mental health issues.

However this is probably why you've been playing chess seriously for seven years and still haven't managed to get past 1800.

If you say "OBVIOUSLY ANYONE WHO MAKES PERSONAL ATTACKS DOESN'T HAVE A JOB, I HAVE A JOB AND YOU DON'T" and then follow up by making a direct personal attack this shows that your ability to think logically and draw conclusions based on facts as opposed to arbitrary notions is severely lacking.

And I think that's basically what chess is right?

Edit: You also never bothered to reply to my real post, but instead resorted instantly to inane personal attacks based on things which don't actually make any sense in the context of this debate, such as "YOU HAVE NO JOB" or, "YOU'RE UGLY".

Totally agree...I was just having a little fun.  If you read through the first part of this post it was very lucid, rational, and intelligent.  But it just became silly and annoying. 

Sorry if it offended.  Some people get wrapped to tight.  Much is lost in translation when typing and smilie faces don't always do enough.
