I just want to say hi.  I joined today. I am a 66 year old grandmother who lost her husband (played chess) last year to cancer.  My husband Bruce was going to teach chess to our granddaughters.  That didn't happen so I want to learn enough to teach the basics when they are ready (4 yrs and 2 yrs).  I truly believe chess is a game that gives back more (discipline, control, judgement) than just the satisfaction of the current game.  Hope I can make this happen.

Hi Sandy,

I'm sorry to hear about your husband, but I think it's truly a beautiful gesture to honour him in this way!

My son, who is 6, just recently got involved with the game and he's loving it.

If you ever want to play, send me an invite.

Sandy,

Sandy, my sincere sympathy in the loss of your husband.  Are you just starting to learn, or have you played some games?  If and when you feel ready for a game on chess.com, I would be happy to play against you.
