Absolutely not. But everyone knows that with an attitude towards cucumbers like that, you’ll never be a GM.

If your goal is to be world champion, or at least a serious contender, then perhaps you are starting a bit late.  Any goal less than that though is certainly still attainable if you put in the time and effort.

I don't agree. We never know. Talent is not something you can predict based on age.

Have fun with chess.

i remember when i first play chess on 10 years old and i always lose, later because chess is my hobies and i play versus computer in deep fritz 7 and i always lose to, by the way after that i finaly grow my ability, and i become champion in my school, by the the way i think you just find the best coach for you, not ever late to study

Just lay off the speed chess though. That's an addiction that will hurt ur improvement.

Use that time for study, training, preparing for ur next tournament.

The only thing that could really stop you becoming a Super GM is a sudden unexpected DeathToCucumbers.

Yes, 13 years old is too late to do much of anything with your life.

No, I learned chess in 13 (I'm 13 now) and I'm playing so perfectly.

Anybody at any age can start chess and get good improvement. If you plan to become competitive, then you may need to dedicate time every day for chess, but it is possible to get to a high level, perhaps even GM if you start now. I also started chess at 13 about a year ago, too

I started playing when I was 13. Now I’m 17 and a 2000+ rated player. Yesterday I drew against the top junior player in my state, a 2160 CM.
