is 1400 a good rating?

Everything is relative. To Magnus, maybe not. There are 500M chess players on this planet, you are better than 80% or 400M of us. So I would say you are a very good player.

Sorry, I will CRUSH you if we play

I'm also sorry

please increase your rapid rating by about 200 points before making claims like such.

"Crush" - defined as to beat absolutely, leaving no doubt of the result. A single match between two people is not a "crush" no matter who wins. An adoption, however, is a "crush".

Unfortunately for you, the only thing that is being crushed is your claim.

The odds are actually in your favour though . Coz I remember beating one of the super GM bots here with queen odds.

Why is revisiting this so hilarious, in essence, when I was 1400, I sucked as I'll get out, but I got better and that's all that matters.

It’s not PGA, but it could be country club champ.

I’m going to answer my own question from 5? Years ago, when I was 1400 I was really proud and happy I achieved that level at my age, nowadays, at my rating of 2100 (USCF) I beat 1400s on the regular, so what’s the takeaway? You are neither good nor bad at chess, you are your own level and you can always improve and feel proud of what you’ve achieved.

It's important to remember that ratings are relative, and what is considered "good" can vary depending on your goals and the specific context. For casual play and enjoyment, a rating of 1400 is certainly respectable. If you're aiming to compete in tournaments or achieve higher ratings, there is still room for improvement, and you can continue to work on your skills and study the game to progress further.

Oooh, neat, a chance to look at what a bot's bullet move time looks like... yes, I see, very bot-like.

1420 is a decent blitz rating. It shows that you're an intermediate player. You know the basics already, you can spot a few tactics in game, and you probably have a rough idea about positional play too, keeping your king safe and controlling the centre.

You're at the level where you're starting to play real chess, rather than just a game of cheapos and hanging pieces.

Dude I bet I can beat you

I bet I can MURDER you in a chess game. You're trash, don't hype yourself up.

Why did i come back to this but we need to see this rematch at some point
