I'm pretty sure I've played you in a USCF tournament in late September and beat you badly(you were playing the London), and the thing is that the opening didn't really kill you. However, some mistakes in the middlegame did, and you have to prob study more tactics and stuff. To improve, maybe try to get a good puzzle book, and take more time in your games.
is 1500 a good rating?
Here is a blog with my general advice. https://www.chess.com/blog/KingsideCastleNotation/how-i-got-2000-a-guide-for-you
As for your question of is 1500 good for 15 it is. Like if your goal is like National Master or Candidate Master than that's feasible. I started chess at 17 and went from 300 to 2,000 rapid in about 11 months. Also 1-2 hours of daily training should be good enough. I want to mention that I have never finished a chess book, I did about 280 puzzles in the Woodpecker Method but that's about it and as a tactical player whose tactically motivated I strive in solving puzzles and think they are a good way to get good at chess fast.
This question has been asked a ton but..... is 1500 a good rating for a 15 year old if theyre goal is to acquire a title of any sort? Therefore, not focused on becoming grandmaster, but achieving lower titles? Recently, i had been stuck on 1200 for approx 7 months, until i finally surpassed it last week, passed 1300, and now am 1450! I believe this is mainly due to the fact that I bought a chess opening book and studied it for around 30 mins a day (which i know is not that much). How can I improve, any suggestions?
