im only 10 years old and im only 700 so am i good?

'Good' is definitive. A 300 for example will call a 700 very good, but a 1200 will consider 700 very easy. So there's not really an answer.

I think the cat was the main reason to post this

Is your pfp a scratch reference? I do stuff on it.

I’m three and one half, and I’ve been stuck at 2700 for years.

I’d say so.. as long as you improve, you’re on the right track

I feel like 700 is good at any age.

Your Chess.com rating is 1591…?

Avatar of turnoffthefaucet

I’ve been playing since I was four months old, rated 743 at five months. During the ensuing three years my rating has oscillated more than a 60 hertz sine wave. I’m projected to become the youngest GM ever, and to win the world championship at nine. When I play blitz my hands move so fast I was nicknamed Blurry Blue Bob, which I like better than Poopy Pants, a moniker my big sister hung on me after a too generous helping of black bean casserole.

says the one with thier blitz rating below 1500

I think it’s just fine, although there’s no definitive answer. I believe I was 1200ish at 10, would have been around 400 at 7 though. It’s definetly better than most casual players, I think you could beat most people that you see walking down the street. Of course you have your whole life ahead of you for improvement as well so that helps. I love obective answers, but this question has none. Whether 700 is good is subjective. What is “good?” Is it a certain percentile, a score in a tournament, the number of wins you have? If you are 100 and go uo to 700, is 700 good? If you go from 1500 to 1700, does that makes it less good? If “good” is defined as the probability that if you are walking down the street and ask a random person to play chess with you that you will win that game, yes, you’re quite good. If good is defined as your probability of winning the World Chess Championships, then you aren’t (alrhough nothing is impossible.) Assuming “good” is defined as your percentile being higher than the 50th percentile on chess.com, yes, you are good. But there’s really no answer to this question. Keep at it, you are at a good age to improve at chess rapidly. Happy chessing :)

Sorry but the cut off age for being good at the rating of 700 is 9 years and 7 months.

The bunny was told there's a definite answer. Hundreds of folks have come here expecting a definite answer and science will not let them down. Because science.
