Bobby Fischer's "antics" always reminded me to John McEnroe's. They both achieved a lot to clean up their respective sport's officiating and call attention to their sports with their uncompromising, demanding, confrontational styles.
Is Anand a better player than Fischer
...sigh...you morons still argue and babble about modern GMs vs Fischer,someone who passed away in 08 and was in his prime in the early '70s. Get over Fischer already,do you guys know how idiotic it is to even ask such questions, or even entertain them?
Shut the hell up and get over Fischer already,it's idiotic to compare a DEAD person to a living one that is at the their prime now. Such "what ifs" are a waste of time,Fishcer is DEAD, comparing him to anyone from the present is useless,and if you want to play the "well modern GMs have advanced theory now they'd crush Fischer" you morons forget that Fischer was just as good,if not even better,than most modern GMs when it came to therory. Yes,the theroy has advanced,but if Fischer was alive and 27 years old,and had access to the same theory,he'd give any modern GM a run for their money.
@fabelhaft
I noted the problem with Fischer previously. He simply didn't play too much. There are those breaks in his career which owed more - I guess - to Fischer fighting ghosts (or should that be inner demons?) than anything. I've heard it argued that Fischer was a very strong GM, certainly the best the West had to offer, but the Fischer we know - the Bobby of legend - only developed in 1970-72, with his crushing wins culminating in the championship match.
