I personally never play blitz/bullet right before a serious game, otherwise my mind would be latched on "short term goals" mode

When Lefty Driesell was coaching Maryland, he got an early lead against heavily-favored North Carolina State and held the ball for something like 30 minutes to win a game with a small score.
Even though I was rooting for the local guys, something wasn't quite right!
